1964: Buckingham Palace Ducks

“This police officer was my father James Greenfield who was given the name of “Jim the Duck” by the press. Inside the Palace he was given the nickname “Greenery” because he was always interested in the garden and plants situated in the Palace.

“He was the policeman outside Buckingham Palace at announcements of the royal births of Prince Andrew and Prince Edward. After his retirement from the Police in 1970 he became a Privy Purse Messenger at Buckingham Palace where he served until the 1980s.”
