The caption’s but a misnomer, if you ask me? Reply Silver Fang January 25, 2013 Did people really carry wireless telegraphs around with them like that? Reply Marab January 26, 2013 Of course not, silly! The cartoon was making fun of technological advances in communication by taking it to what would have been seen as the height of absurdity at that time. Of course, we now use the equivalent to communicate with others every day and think nothing of it. Just goes to show you…the future will always be full of amazing, terrifying and absurd developments and not just what we expected. That’s why studying the past is so interesting; history is just the future backwards and full of random cool stuff. I am a huge fan of this site.
