On November 25, 1864, John Wilkes Booth performed for the only time with his two brothers, Edwin and Junius, in a production of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York. He played Mark Antony (left) and his brother Edwin (centre) had the larger role of Brutus – Junius played Caesar (right). The proceeds went towards a statue of William Shakespeare for Central Park, which still stands today.
The photograph can be found at Brown University Library.
