    We know now that babies actually do better if they are “taken up whenever they cry” and do better at the family table and in bed with Mama and Papa when young. Regimentation never did well for babies.

    However, the “Costs of Feeding” made sense then, as it does now. And little was proven (although it was known) about the immune, intelligence, bonding and increased health of the baby fed at the breast by his mother.
