Absolutely beautiful, but some of the marine creatures reminds me of Lovecraft demons :D

I’m a biologist. The art in this book is amazing. I really want a reprint of this book!

I find it hard to belive that you posted these with no referance to the artist, Ernst Haeckel.

    Absolutely astounding works of art.
There was something specially gifted about the people of previous centuries
that I believe has become lost to us now.
Ernst Haeckel had what I would describe as an inner eye that was able to both
perceive the world around him and convey it in illustrated form as magnificent in
aesthetic beauty as it is in exquisite scientific detail.
    Truly beautiful.
