This is a found collection of personal snapshots from the Crescent Community, a small, now lost community, 30 miles north of Mullinville, Ks. This small community was made up for only 15-20 families at its peak in the 1930′s.
After the widespread adoption of the automobile, most of the people in communities like Cresent lost their post offices, stores and schools.
These photos tell a story of happy, close families that have long since moved on.
We’re crowfunding a 80-page hardbound of these photos: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/patrickclement/small-town-a-pictorial-look-at-1940s-rural-america
