    Please, tell me they at least had some sort of seat belts. It looks like they’re actually just sitting on the wing, holding on for dear life.

    The woman in the top photo is Mabel Normand, one of the silent movies’ greatest comediennes.

    In 1912 (roughly when that photo was taken), Mabel starred in a short film called “A Dash Through the Clouds” which centered around her love of flying. It can be seen on YouTube:
