From a family collection, this is a group of ladies (presumably family) professionally photographed before and after an outdoor tea party in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The two shots were taken from slightly different angles, which gives a better sense of the rural or cottage setting, perhaps on the St. Lawrence River. Two frozen moments in an idealized, middle class, small town Canadian way of life in the age of Empire. Close-ups are pulled from the full-rez scans.
