Reply Juli Kearns October 4, 2012 Jason, this is protective gear worn by Plastic Man at the Hanford Site (plutonium production–manufactured the plutonium for Fat Man). The bottom photo is 1954 from the Atomic Frontier Days Parades that were held at Richland, Washington. More information is below including archive data on the photographs which are from the Hanford Declassified Document Retrieval System. The photos were classified for decades and released in 1994.
