      Not really. The Motion Picture Production Code (“Hays Code”) wasn’t yet in full swing, and such material (and far racier) was not unheard of.

    I’m guessing that the four-letter word that made the world go ’round back then wasn’t “f*ck,” but “love.”

      I suspect you are correct and the word is “love” as in the famous quotation “Love Makes the World Go ‘Round”.

      But since it appears twice in the poster, the word might just possibly be “co-ed”.
