    So that’s where it came from.

    That first image was used in the early 1980s by a man called Malcolm Garrett for his organization, Assorted iMaGes, and their client, a Scottish rock band called Simple Minds.

    Garrett treated and applied the eerie image of Liberty’s disembodied face to the 12-inch remix of “Someone Somewhere” from the New Gold Dream album.

    The Minds’ 1982 “New Gold Dream (81-82-83-84)” is widely considered one of the best albums ever.

    Countries will send one another sculptures, buildings, paintings, formulas, and even gifts of land…the spirit of mankind is not self centered. The spirit of womankind is not conservative.
