6 Responses Hayley June 21, 2012 This reminds me of the statue of Britannia that was designed for London but never went ahead. It was set to be ENORMOUS! I took a still of a rendering of it on the BBC once. It would have been three times as big as the Angel of the North at 200ft, it’s quite scary…image here http://bit.ly/MliKnA Reply Matt June 22, 2012 Agreed that statue would be scary and awesome in equal measure! I found a blog post about it: http://www.thegreenwichphantom.co.uk/category/john-flaxman/ Reply Michael Barron June 21, 2012 There used to be a mini (6ft approx.) Statue of Liberty that sat on top of the old Co-operative Hypermarket building in Glasgow and overlooked the Kingston Bridge. It disappeared when the building was renovated and turned into flats. It is such an iconic symbol and to disappear without a trace is very sad. Reply Matt June 22, 2012 Once I researched, I was surprised how many replicas there are of the statue! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Replicas_of_the_Statue_of_Liberty Reply Barry June 23, 2012 Someone should make a poster of these photo’s. Reply meh June 24, 2012 someone should remind america why it was given to them and the values it represented. Reply Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Your email address will not be published.
