Reply Dawnzy October 5, 2011 Imagine how much harder these sports had to be with the terribly restricting corsets some of them are wearing. How would you breathe? Reply FlatCat June 9, 2012 Full corsets would have been worn when posing for the photographs. When actually playing sports, most women wore wool or cotton corset type garments without any boning. These lighter sport corsets were recommended for better mobility and breathing, while still providing support; similar to how most women today wouldn’t be physically comfortable exercising without a bra.
